0530 - so you will probably find gate drives leave at 0500.

Most, if not all, the gates will offer sunrise/sunset drives to those staying outside the park. With prior arrangements you can also arrange a full or half day tour - although this will depend on availability of guides and vehicles.

Contact the gate closest to where you are staying for more information on their timings etc.

Are there any game drives for day visitors (in case the previously mentioned 'stay in the park" option doesn't work out?

Kruger Gate will definitely do morning and sunset drives, not sure about the night drives. Phabeni gate may also do drives.

There are also companies in Hazyview which offer full day drives into the park.

Kruger Gate offers night drives commencing @ 17:00 and the price is R360 per person.

Croc Bridge also does game drives but be sure to book the sunset drive which is very popular and get exact times of departure, also it does cost more than if you were a guest.
Like quite a bit more.
There is also a night drive, if anyone is booked on it, the vehicle leaves about 20h00 but you need to get all the facts from reception and especially the departure times.
They only have / had one vehicle in Dec to do these drives.

I am staying in Kruger Park Lodge outside of Kruger Park. What is the least expensive way to be able to do a one night game drive?

I dont think their is a least expensive way to do a game drive as all the game drives prices are pretty much the same, book a drive at your nearest entrance gate and enjoy hope you have lots of sightings

To my knowledge only sunset drives are offered at the gates.
Night drives are only conducted from certain camps in the Park.
The difference in price is quite substantial when one does a drive from the gate as opposed to the cost when one is staying in the Park.

Can someone go on an Nightdrive at Crocodile Bridge if not staying at the park?

Not sure if Crocodile Bridge run night drives but they will certainly run a sunset drive.
