Yes, I think that is where it is, in the same mall but at the other end.

Definitely so. Same Mall (Blue Haze). The Checkers in Hazyview is also pretty good. And I could tell you about a local butcher....

Malelane shopping area is about 10mins from the gate. I am not too sure about Phabeni and Hazyview as I do not use that often, but agree 20/30mins might be closer.

You will go through Hazyview on your way to Phabeni gate anyway. The shopping centre is on your right after turning at traffic lights in Hazyview. It is probably best to stop there.

Thanks Ecojunkie, much appreciated. Looks like straight to Hazyview for shopping, then into the mighty Kruger National Park, can't wait!

We will have to shop at the Blue Haze Mall before going through to Satara, will I have to leave my hubby on guard or are we safe to leave the car (with everything packed away hidden of course..)?

I went to the Hazyview mall about a month ago....Parked on the Kruger side of the mall......turn as if going to Phabeni gate and then go into mall from roundabout. The parking was fine and a very nice car guard was on duty. As long as 'interesting things' are not on view in the car you should not worry too much.

Hello...I usually fly into KMIA but the next trip we will be flying into Skukuza. We are renting our car at Skykuza airport. Are there any shopping opportunities for food just outside Paul Kruger gate? Or where might the closest one be...our first camp is Berg en dal...

Hazyview is fairly close to Phabeni gate, but since you'll be staying at BnD, your best bet might be to pop out of Malelane gate to the shops in Malelane. I've never been to those, but I'm sure that others can help with specifics.

Have a great trip!

What you could do is buy what you need at the shop at B & D for the first night, also a nice restaurant there and the next day take a drive out of Malelane gate and do your main shop at either the P & Pay or Spar in the town of Malelane.
Probably be a more relaxed way of doing things!

Please help.....Camping in the Kruger for the first time.
At the end of March, we will be camping at Satara for a week and then move to our next booking at Tambotie. With camping comes the problems with refrigeration and we will only have a “cooler with ice” which would only work for about a week. Are there any shopping opportunities for food just outside Orpen gate?

The town is about 10-15mins drive from the gate. Just tell the security at the boom that you are going shopping and want a re-entry stamp. PnP is on your left at the second traffic lights, and Spar will be to the right from same traffic lights but a little down the road.

Hi Everyone

We will drive from New Castle on a Sunday morning, I was wondering if someone can advise until when shops in Nespruit is open on a Sunday and where I can go for all these in one go :D

I will need a woollies, liquor store, good place to buy meat, and then your normal spar, pnp or checkers.

Thanks so much
:)

The Orpen gate has a nice, pretty well stocked shop to get ice and firewood as well as restock some food while staying at Tamboti. In addition, they have a great coffee shop if you are craving a Latte or Cappuccino!! That is where we stocked up while staying in Tamboti.
