Hi there.

Are the road closures plotted on a map somewhere? I have 5 days at Biyamiti from 21st March. Seems a lot of the roads around Biyamiti are still closed.

Hi Alfie, and a warm welcome to the forum.

I would advise that you keep checking the updates on the home page as I am sure by the 21st March many more of the roads will have been reopened, barring any more heavy rains of course.
Enjoy your trip! :D

Hi everyone,
First time on the forum, planning first trip to South Africa and Kruger! Quick question: what does "temporarily open" mean for Talamati -- will it be closed soon for repairs? We'll be there in June.

When I was in Kruger in March 2010 I was most disappointed that there was major construction going on along the Olifants River, the S90 & S91.

I was told that the purpose of the wier was to build some sort of monitoring system that would serve as a warning system if a flood should occur and would allow the authorities to be able to monitor the river level etc.

How effective was this in light of the recent floods?

Anyone?

TheunsH, we have tried to find other accommodation but to no avail (according to the central reservations the park is going to be full to capicity in the July school holidays) BUT they also told me that some people will still cancel, so maybe you could just wait and maybe also

Drove from Skukuza to Malelane this morning - nice to see De la Porte causeway open again. Still a little damage to be repaired, but the road is fine.
