My son, not even 1 year old, reacted very badly on the Malaria tablets..

On our last day we exit the park at Crocodile bridge... We handed our permit and as we drove off he decided to throw up.. Over everything, including his mother.

We were on no mans land, as we just exit the gate. ALL our clothes was packed right at the bottom of the trailer....

so

We ender up doing a bath the baby in the basin at the gate. He had a fever of 39 and we needed to break that.

Overseas visitors came in to the ablution block and couldnt understand what and why we were doing.... Trying to explain to them that he was very sick and we needed to break the fever, the one girl asked me if the park have showers in the camps, or is this the cleaning method.......

Is this the cleaning method LMAO that is classic :D

Amazing how Kruger has given every single family that has ever gone there a memory.. whether it is good, sad or a bit scary. It`s something none of us will ever forget. :D

Going on a late evening Game Drive from Skukuza and have the driver fall asleep, not make a corner and drive off the road and into the bush. I was on side of vehicle and first I knew was when a branch smacked me in the face. Fortunately no major damage other than to the drivers pride.

I've got 2 - one very embarrassing moment & one VERY annoying moment....

1. Biyamiti - Christmas day - table all decorated and stunning. Planned a last minute sunset drive. We ate quickly and ran to get ourselves ready. We left the table as it was, all the dishes in the kitchen. But table cloth, salt, pepper & citronella lamp outside. We left the lamp burning, because we didn't want to put on the light (due to all the bugs in Dec) Not even a breeze moving a single leave. Hot as hell!! The lamp was very safe & secure. During the drive a gulf of wind came up - but that was it. As quick as it came, it was all over again... Once arriving home, the place was pitch black. Not sure what was going on, we switched on the stoep light, only to find that that 10sec gulf of wind lifted up the tablecloth - it completely burned (we found the ashes), the salt & pepper all burned out a.w.a. the lamp. The table was damaged as well...
Yes, yes... I can hear you all say that this was a very stupid and dangerous move!! At the moment it didn't though... Just shows you how quick things can change!!

2. Skukuza bungalow - saw a paper on our stoep table. Didn't bother much about reading it. We just threw our stuff on the beds, food in the fridge - ran down to the shop before heading out again. Only to come back to find the monkeys had enjoyed our salmon & cream cheese role we bought at Milly's. Some yogurt, cheese, salami etc... To say I was slightly annoyed is an understatement!! :sniper: We were suppose to move the table in front of the fridge...

Nwanedzi picknickspot where my Nissan Sani refused to start. I went up to the hide again, took pictures of a striped skaapsteker, came back and it started fine again.

I have 'the worst experience' on every trip and that is when I check the bookings form and it says "Last day, go directly to gate (jail), don't collect more pictures, don't stop at picnic spots. Then we travel to the gate in a somber mood and what makes it worse is to see the incoming visitors. They are all smiles, laughing and chatting and generally in a festive mood.

Rooies,
That bugs me too.
When you stop at the gate for a final "pit stop" before travelling back to civilization.
And you see all the smiley faces of the visitors coming in.

Absolutely!! Sometimes I'll drive to Punda or Pafuri gate because the odds of NOT seeing any new people coming in are quite good

I never had to catch rain water in rubbish bins before to use the ablutions in Kruger :| . And what if it does not rain  ? It seems that SA is becoming drier and drier, perhaps from the global warming, as supplying clean water is becoming a challenge :hmz:

Just keep in mind the request from SANParks in the media releases on the flood updates:

Quote:
Guests are kindly urged to use water sparingly as camps/ gates and picnic spots in many areas operate on emergency pumps and boreholes with limited capacity.

Hi All
My worst experience in Kruger was at Pretoriuskop Camp.
Firstly not being able to find a camp site due to people parking their cars on unoccupied sites and not wanting to move them even after the camp manager had a word to them
Eventually finding a spot and having no electrical point to connect to due to one person having two plugs plugged in.
After camp managerment sorted that out the power was so low the fridge would not come on so all in all Pretoriuskop has been one of my least favourite camps and my worst experience overall.
Luckly we have found Tzendse and Roger and Alina
Regards
