almost 90%!!!!!! of the respons wants to check in around 12 and check out before 9!!!!

Now the big question....... what is management KNP going to do about it...... :hmz:

I should say: turn it back to what is was and what many visitors wants!!

I hope we get an official respons 8)

To be honest
been in Kruger in May (out of high season) and check in times were flexible
could check in sometimes at 13.00.
No problem
And when the new check in times were introduced were sometimes told that its only at 2 that we could receive a key.
So imo, the camps i have visited were not so rigid anymore

True, Bert. Out of season most camps (except one or two on occasion) are usually more than willing to accommodate one somewhat earlier. Sometimes the key is only issued at 2 p.m., but other times - especially when the unit wasn't used the day prior - they hand over the key at noon with a smile.

My concern is during peak season when it is quite difficult for reception staff to allow one person to book in early but refuse another; on one occasion - because there were problems with the computers at Lower Sabie - I had to stand in line until 3.45 (almost two hours) to receive our key! On that occasion, we dropped everything at the bungalow and rushed out on our evening drive, arriving eventually to relax in camp at 6.30 p.m. On another occasion - again because of no fault of the reception staff - I received the accommodation key at a little after three, after waiting at Skukuza from 1.45 p.m.

If SANParks would consider going back to an earlier time - even 1 p.m. - the hour-long buffer could easily mean the difference between an afternoon snooze or feet-up breather before going out on a drive or rushing around to make the most of the holiday. As I said, it isn't every time this has happened, but when it does, the levels of chagrin increase proportionately amongst many of those waiting to receive their keys.

Hi
It would be great to check in at 12:00, pack out rest a while and get ready for the afternoon trip. We are out of the camps as most of the visitors long before 09:00 in the morning.

P.S. 7 days to go then I will be in KNP Heaven!!
