BB, Your shirt reminds me of Rocky III - or is it Rocky 31?

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive...
So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive...

Chorus (repeat twice):

It's the Eye of the Tiger
Eying that pie of yours
It's the Eye of the Tiger
Stalking from that shirt of yours
It's the Eye of the Tiiiiigggggeer....

I also have 'special clothing' for the wild - in particular a beeeauutiful blue track suit with stripes - hubby begged me to throw it away after 15 years...

OK, with you lot I should have known better.

Sorry Wacktazz, your club has been cancelled

They all want to join the BB leopard t-shirt paunch club.

I got the t-shirt at Skuk, the day I saw my first real leopards in Kruger.
I got the paunch... never mind. Maybe it had something to do with the pasties.

Why am I drooling now

Please, please, please  BB don't cancel the club!

My SO and I want to be members no2 & no3.
We had the pleasure back in January this year of a couple of very tasty buff pies/pasties.
That day wacktazz advised that his cook had not covered them in egg glaze so we got them at a reduced price so for a canny Scot they tasted even better :D
We had to beat off marauding monkeys to sit at eat them with our beautiful river view.
I think they knew how good they were!

Looking forward to our next ones possibly in November.

PS I too have safari only clothes (nothing as WILD as yours though!) And as for the bump "bought and paid for, I say" they're just jealous.
Desperate for my next Kruger fix!!!

The first batch hatches round about 8 am
There after every two hours or so.
I even sell them frozen nowadays. I normally have 100 or so as a backup, and I assure you the poor lady that makes them everyday are never likely to eat one. She makes up to a hundred a day sometimes. The other day on the way home, we saw buffalos and she sort of whispered- Eish, Another Nyathi (buffalo in Shangaan)

They the best pastries we have ever had.
Got to Nkuhlu late afternoon on the 23 April was told to wait 20 min.
They were in the oven and apparently they get sold very quickly.
had to try read on forum about them so told hubby want to taste it.
GUYS they are huge, two can eat from one portion.
Had buffalo pie the next morning for breakfast and will stop there when I am in the park to have my pie.
The staff was also very friendly.

Elzet wrote:the oven-side of things... wanna share your dough recipe? - seems like a true boere one, or is it the ready-made dough from the shops that you use?

I buy it.
Not quite the ones thats in the shops- they tend to be fragile.

I made it myself, but that was when I made only ten pies every second week.

Will try one next visit but it will have to be good to beat the original and best - a proper Cornish pasty. My son, usually a bit of a fitness freak, has been home on holiday and ate 13 in 14 days! He says they're never the same anywhere else.
