Hassim, I know that a new bird hide was constructed last year already at Punda Maria rest camp. I would love to c what turns up there.

So far there are 12 hides that I know of:
1. Gardenia - fairly new.
2. Ntandanyathi
3. Lake Panic - my favourite
4. Sweni
5. Ratelpan
6. Sable
7. Matabeni
8. Shipandane
9. Pioneer
10. Nyawutsi
11. Kanniedood dam
12. Punda Maria - fairly new

I have never visited 2. and 10. Hope to set that right soon.

The one at Punda is situated next to the perimeter fence in the camping area. Looks out over the veld. There was a little puddle some way off last year November where we saw a Batleur taking a bath. Not much else. We had better birding waking around in the camp than from the hide itself.

In my opinion, as far as photography is concerned, Lake Panic hide will be the best. Most of the others are to far from the "action" and some are in my opinion mere lookout points to watch hippos from.

A hide somewhere on the Nyala road next to the Luvuvhu river in the Pafuri region would be nice.

Not WTM  (he has a holiday today), but can help with location of Gardenia Hide. It's on the S119, about halfway between the S114 and the S25.

Talamati has two nice hides :D
After many visits to Tamboti we finally found the hide near #1 (I think) and we were very dissappointed
All you could see were very high reeds :? this was Nov 2006 perhaps it is better now?

Also found the Tamboti hide disappointing. Somebody should do some gardening in front of it!

Only saw one bird there in a few visits - a saddle billed stork.
