Looks Like Onewithnature is indisposed

So, Fact or myth.
While we on the speed thread,
Springboks can achieve speeds of more than 100km/h.

Sorry Gilbert, I AM around. I was simply waiting for someone to say that the answer to my question is a MYTH, which is the fact of the matter. A cheetah is NOT able to run at 120km/h, as has sometimes been touted. Perhaps this top-end speed is fanciful wishing, or exaggeration. Either way, this romantic speed has not been scientifically verified. In fact, the latest research - and very accurate fitting of motion collars to wild cheetah in Botswana - showed that the highest speed achieved was 96 km/h (59 mph). So, since no-one got the question correct, I will ask the next one. :D (Gilbert, you can keep your Q until the next opportunity, if you don't mind. )

Or maybe the collar catching on a thornbush as he passed. Interestingly, the researches did say that "Ferrari " was making his record run through bush at the time, so who knows how much faster he could have run. :hmz: A Q in a mo-and-a-half ...

And the 114km/h was apparently a 1960's experiment on an open track. What ever that means.

Fact or Myth: Only a small portion of the Vietnamese population are consuming rhino horn for its purported medicinal value?

OK I'll give this a try.

Springboks don't occur in Kruger due to human intervention. Fact or Myth?....
