Inside a baboons mouth there are cheek pouches with the capacity to hold as much food as their intestines do.

I'd say False. The pouches inside a baboon's cheeks can certainly hold a lot of food for eating later - probably as much as its stomach - but not as much as the whole of the intestines could. (Remember that the intestines are very long and coiled, with an amazing amount of space inside of them.)

I concur own ;) their cheek pouches can hold as much food as their stomachs and not their intestines.

Thanks Heksie.

Fact or Myth ... The oldest known tree in South Africa established by carbon dating is about 6000 years old?

This tree is the Sunland ‘Big Baobab’ which is in Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo Province and is famous internationally for being the widest of its species in the world.

Fact or Myth?

Cheetahs overheat when hunting which causes them to abandon the chase.

Thank you Pholojwe for noticing. My question of the baobab was indeed one that required deeper investigation, and also my way of placing into doubt the advertised assertion that the oldest tree in South Africa (and which would contend for oldest in the world) is 6000 years, based on radiocarbon dating. Phokjwe and Philip, you did pick up on the name of the tree, but I wanted it realised that radiocarbon dating is not viable when an organism is still living, as the ratio of carbon isotopes used for the dating method does not alter until the tissue is dead. Therefore, based on this at least, the seeming extreme age of this tree must be questioned. Extremely well done to Imberbe for noticing.     And, IB, if you're around, please pose the next Q.
