True or false?

Although the arc in a primary rainbow shows red on the outer part (being the longest) and violet on the inner side (being the shortest) it is not always the case. With a double rainbow the second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colors reversed, with violet the longest and red the shortest.

Thus making my statement false.

Heksie came the closest to what I was looking for, although she haven't give the true reason.

Heksie, over to you!

Just to point out something here, Markus:

There were two meanings to your question - either you were referring to the lengths of the respective red and violet bows along the curvature of the total rainbow, or you meant the relative wavelengths of red to violet. Which is why I asked for clarity, to which you confirmed that you were talking about wavelengths. In that case, red is always the longest of the wavelengths and violet the shortest; which makes your question TRUE.

Nevertheless, I like your intended meaning and answer, even though you originally did not explain it to be that. Just an oversight, I'm sure.

Thanks for that onewithnature. Now this is what makes Quizzes not just fun but learning more about a subject. There is always more possibilities to consider. Will try my best to bring more clarity to a question next time round.

Puff adders are oviviparous. Instead of being incubated externally, the eggs are retained within the organisms body until they are ready to hatch. The young are born from late summer into early autumn. :hmz: So i say False. :?
