The amount of water confused me , so much in July ?

ndloti, the river at the Ratelpan was very full indeed. This picture was also taken at the hide in a western direction to the opposite riverbank and also shows a lot of water:

I am not sure if Piet Grobler dam has an operational sluice, but maybe it was opened a day or so prior to our visit to the hide? :hmz:

I had a look at the rainfall stats , there was unusually high rainfall in May & June in many adjacent areas , Houtboschrand and Kingfisherspruit received more than double the monthly average in May .

This looks to me it could be one of a few places - Voortrekker road , Mtomeni area .
