Thats correct, but I'm looking for something else in the answer. :D

Sorry WAC, but remember that I'm 7 hours behind you (your 07h45 is 00h45 where I live, so I was asleep) — only saw this just now

There used to be a general understanding for quizzes of waiting 24 hours before posting the correct answer, to allow everyone, those in different times zones and those who don't/can't access the forum whilst working, to have the chance to participate.

WAC, not "shouting" at you, but if you really want more people to participate in your quizz, you shouldn't give ANY answers or hints for 24 hours. That allows lots more people to weigh in with different ideas. Now you've already given half the answer away :(

Just a gentle reminder here forumites - there are no rules governing how long quizzes should be left before answers are given. It is up to the person who is running a particular quiz. Judge it for yourself - if you wish to leave it run longer to allow more members to try and answer, great. If you wish to give the answer after a few attempts - cool too. :D

WAC, I was also just kidding  You run excellent quizzes, I learn lots from you, and I was just suggesting that holding off on giving answers allows more members to participate.

@DB: I know it's not a fixed "rule", but there had been a general understanding that waiting 24 hours before posting answers allows the quizzes to be more "inclusive".

Just the simple truth, WAC. I like your quizzes and you've added substantive material elsewhere as well. I very much admire your initiative!

OK, with a whole TWO hours on the cheetah question — two hours that are the middle of the night (01h30 to 03h30) where I live — I guess I can just forget about participating in quizzes

@ Sonbesie: Your impatience isn't very considerate of those of us who live in different time zones  I am 7 hours behind SA and 08h30 in SA is 01h30 where I live.

@ mods: I think it would be very nice if some effort were made to keep the quizzes more "inclusive"

@ WAC: Please don't take my remarks personally. You're clearly getting pressure to speed things up

I do apologize if I seemed to be impatient arks, or if I pressurised anybody to post answers earlier (which I can't see that I did) but as I see it I was impatient with the "to and thro" posts about the whole "time issue" and NOT about posting answers after 24h!
Whilst you guys are quarrelling outside the FORUM TOPIC, we are all waiting for a quizz....
I agree with only posting answers after 24h, and promise will do it within these timeframes if I had to start a quizz.

I agree with you DB.

Arks--> I agree with the point that we should wait 24 hours, but i really think it is up to the person running the quiz to decide. Hope
this doesn't discourage you.
