The exotic Cyathea australis....refers to the south, it's common name is Rough Tree Fern :wink:

The Venda people of Southern Africa take bark from the marula tree, soak it in hot water, and then drink the resulting infusion. For what specific purpose do they do this?

This tree found in KNP is endangered due to the harvesting for medicinal use. It is so threatened that it is being guarded by armed guards. It has proven medicinal uses. Name the tree.

As far as I know Swazi Lily, Wild Ginger and the Pepperbark Tree are threatened in the Park... but one of the guides on our walk mentioned the Impala Lily was heavily harvested for medicinal purposes...

Goodness! Here goes... This will probably be too easy but it is from personal experience.

Which trees are probably not a good idea to camp under at the end of the dry season in the far north of Kruger and why? :)

You are on the right track Imberbe... Shall we say this tree is rather rare down in the south. I have seen one around the Timbavati area and is more common in the north. Your reasoning regarding animals is spot on. Another clue?
