Buddleja's are what I plant in my garden to attract butterflies... and they work a charm. I like to plant salvifolia. However I believe the vicar's one is saligna.

These trees are not common in Kruger, however, a rare bird depends on them as a source of food! This bird is infrequently seen in the far north.

Wildflowergirl you are LUCKY!!! Yes that is the tree! BUT... the bird is the Cape Parrot. There is a small population up near the Northern Parts of Kruger... not in Kruger but Magoebaskloof... of around 30 birds.

You will find this tree indoors as well as outdoors. Has a beautiful display at this time of the year. This tree is child friendly. One of the easiest to identify, especially at night.
