Not a grass owl or lizard buzzard.

Ranges from NW Africa, Canary Islands, Egypt, and most of sub-Saharan Africa to the Cape of Good Hope. Voice is a shrill rasping kree-kree-kree-kree.

There are a few bird species that come to mind but I think you are referring to the
Thrushes

Okay I take it, it's me to post. I start with a easy one, sorry if this has been asked before.

Bird calls--- Why do Nightjars have beautiful calls while birds like rollers have relatively ugly calls..

The answer is not a rule for all birds..

Nightjars are nocturnal and rather bland looking so they need to have a beautiful call to attract a mate while rollers are diurnal and bright so they don't have to work that hard at it.
