It is not the upgraded huts in Shingwedzi. Bungalow (BG2) and Hut (EH3)
Yes and the safari tents are a good option .
Tamboti very very nice to stay has bathroom in some of the tents .
Same with some of the lower sabie tents.

Hope you come right.

Pity about the allergy.
I love the smell and look of the thatch.
One of my highlights of staying in Kruger is the rustic feel as apposed to how my house feels.

Thanks boertjie, en yes yoda, I couldn't agree with you more! I am looking for something more towards the South, so perhaps another option may have to be Marloth Park.

T,

My SO also suffers from allergic reaction to thatch, but not as bad as your family member though! But be warned depending on the time of your visit the grass and pollens & dust can also wreak havoc on your peace and quiet!

He takes medication every morning (that doesn't make him feel tired) and usually we are spared the red, itchy, swollen eyes & throat. (I have been tempted in the past to slip him a sleeping pill because the fog horn blowing and snoring can give the unsuspecting person a heart attack.)

I would rather go for the tents at Lower Sabie. Marloth Park might be brilliant but its just not the same, and you might end up with thatch there as well?

I may be wrong, but I seem to recall some of the chalets in Lower Sabie, near the movie area, have tiled roofs

My connection is too slow at the moment, to open videos but perhaps a good idea to watch Roaneric's great :D
overview photo's video clips and also to look at specific accommodation photos on that index to find tiled roofs ?

Hi
I've got a couple of questions that hopefully folks will be able to help with.

Usually we camp when we come to Kruger, but we were late in booking this year so we've got various types of accommodation. Could people help me with the following questions:

Do the 2 person budget huts at Lower Sabie have their own braiis?
Do the 2 person safari tents at Skukuza have power points for recharging camera batteries, laptops etc?
Do they have sinks?

Thanks Gemma :-)

Hi Gemma T

The 2 bed huts at LS do have their own braais in front of them and a small sink. You can see pictures here

At Skukuza the tents also have their own braais, and they don't have sinks unfortunately. They do have power, but if I remember correctly you have to unplug the fridge. What we usually do is take a double adapter so that we can leave the fridge on at night and also charge our batteries.

Have fun, I'm sure you will love it in these tents/huts

Thanks Roaneric. Will take an adapter - thought that might be the case.
Really looking forward to this trip...will be the first time we've done anything but camp - nice to have proper beds!!
Gemma :-)
