Hi Maureen,

Thanks for your reply!
Yes we already found this.. but I can't figure out the difference between BD3B and BD3E and where they are situated. In this post everybody is taling about hut numbers.. we also found a map with these numbers.. and even after calling the Satara Camp we're still try to figure out.. When we called they said that every hut was placed in an quiet area.. but I read in this post about the huts in opposite of the bus parking etc..

And after reading this forum about Kruger we decided to skip an extra day in Johannesburg and have an extra one at Kruger so now we can stay 4 nights :D :D

Have you stayed at a 3p bungalow? Can you recommend one of these at Satara, Skukuza and probably Letaba?

Kind Regards!

As far as I can remember the difference between the BD3B and the BD3E is the E has a verandah that is enclosed with wire mesh. Helps to keep the monkeys and ?mozzies out.
Otherwise they are exactly the same.
In Satara we stayed in the D circle which was a BD3E numbers 81to 84 and we didn't have any problem with noise, altho we weren't really around that much during the day.

HI there esteemed Forumites :)

I have read this and other forums and would just like a little assistance on my choice of options for our accommodation. I have booked already and would like to know if anyone has any units they would prefer over others in the accommodation types we have booked.

Satara - BD2V - From the forums it seems best to request 167 or 179. We're only here for 1 night.
Mopani - FB4 - I see on the map it's units 73-84. This was the most affordable bungalow type availble for our dates. I see they're kinda out of the way - does anyone know which would be a better unit. We're here for 2 nights
Punda Maria - BD3 - I realise the safari tents are the most popular, but we wanted Aircon for April. We will definitely come back and try the safari tents another time. I see there are only 4 units, and I don't think it'll make much of a difference, but if it does please let me know. We're here for 2 nights.
Letaba - BD2 - This is the camp I could really use assistance with. There seem to be a whole bunch of these ones scattered all over the camp. Any recommendation will be appreciatd. We're here for 1 night.
Skukuza - BD2 - I think this is the camp I'm least worried about. We wanted a camp in the south, close to a gate as we're driving back to Durban the next day. If you have a suggested unit I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Good morning Binkieloo,
I'll try and help out with the few camps I have been to .

Mopani, we stayed in unit 102 - bedroom with two single beds plus small room with 2 bunk beds. Enough space for 4 and lovely view over the dam. The closest to the restaurant, safari lounge and shop.

Punda Maria, the tents are lovely and place in a very quiet part of the camp. The main units have air-con and are pretty spacious. I'd personally go for the tents.

Letaba, stayed both in unit 75 (central location and not river facing) and unit 42 (close to the river). Both were pretty good quality.

Hi Binkieloo,

I can help with Satara. I stayed in 167 and it was great! It's about 2 meters from the fence. Lovely!

Having said that, you can't go wrong with 179, as it is also right next to the fence, at the end of the circles.

Hi Everybody :)

I am so excited to visit Kruger again in July

I have a booking at Croc Bridge for 3 nights in a bungalow (BD3) and although I know the camp very well from visits during daytime, we have never stay there for a night. I want to make a special request. Bungalow nr. 9 looks very nice on the map, being near the fence on the left and the river in front. Can anybody advise me if this is a good one? Any other suggestions? :hmz:

Looking forward to hear from you :)

Leanawel,

No 9 is a very good choice. We were in no 10 during december and in this picture you can see no 9 is just to the right.

Thanks again Alf, do you think that I can request nr. 10 as second choice, or rather nr. 8? Which is the most private when sitting outside (my favourite spot - even at night - too scared to miss something)

Leanawel,

It depends if you want to have a view into the bush or onto the river. No 9 i would say is the more private bungalow.

Thanks again Alf

I like the bush and the river all the same. I go for nr. 9 and see what happens.

Is there a report about your recent visit that I can read?

What puts me off from unit 1 to 8 is yeah they look onto the river but you also see all these sugar plantations on the other side of the river.

Trip report???

Haven't had the time to even think about it. :wall:

Alf, my thoughts exactly. I wanted to ask you whether one can see lodges, etc. as is the case along the river east of Malelani gate. :( When in Kruger, I do not want to see anything apart from the bush, not even a sugar plantation ! I made my request, unfortunately Paul is on holiday and I have not received any comment from Croc Bridge. My second choice will then be nr 10 onwards.

Thanks for you help, the situation of the accom is very important, want to be as near to the bush as possible
