Thanks Crested Val & Bushbuddies,

I already thought so I will probably leave the decision to the reception and maybe decide afterwards for hopefully next stays at Shingwedzi about our favourite bungalow location.

So far we only stayed once in Shingwedzi but we will change this shortly

We have been booked into the BD2 bungalows but really do not know which one is located best.

From the camp map No. 69 - 71 looks lovely located. Any advice here resepctively do have anybody a favourite???

Thanks so much for you help in advance :k

Dear Pumba,

we stayed twice in 55, that is next to an old hut which has no view onto the patio of 55 so there is more privacy.
I had a look around in the circle B and found 71 and 72 would also be a good option. The distance between them gives a lot of privacy.
Enjoy your stay at Shingwedzi Camp !

Greetings, Brigitte

Hi,
Restaurant was open in December and food/service very good.
Don't know if it is changing its franchise, but don't think it is so should be open.

Welcome to the forums Wierde.

Shingwedzi restaurant is not changing franchise in the foreseeable future, and is fully renovated after the floods.

Hope you have an enjoyable stay there.

Hi guys, planning our first stay at Shingwedzi. Could only get BG 2 units so will split the kids between hubby and I. Any recommendation on unit numbers? We would love a spot where the kids can just play around us while we enjoy the fire etc.

Thanks

Hi Cape of Storms,

Shingwedzi is one of my favourite camps, but we don't visit there often enough.
I am not sure how much has changed since the floods but the bungalows are in two big circles, almost like Satara, so there is plenty of space for the girls to play in front of the bungalows while you enjoy the fire, no grass. There is normally 2 bungalows joint together, so I would suggest to request a two bungalows that is joint.
Shingwedzi has a lovely pool, so maybe try and stay as close to the pool as possible.
Enjoy the trip. On our last visit we saw our one and only Roan on the drive towards Kanniedood dam, one of the most scenic roads in Kruger.

I think you might be better getting two bungalows that are not linked but have facing kitchens, if you see what I mean. The linked bungalows actually more separate with a wall and then a fence between them. You will share a parking space and the area between the units that face each other which would be better for families I think.

Dear Pietskiet,
I must agree to the above. Try to get 52 + 51, their entrance and the patio must face each other. I have stayed twice in 54 (which is BD2). It is close to the pool and I found it is situated in a quiet area. Furthermore the communal kitchen is not to far away. The BG2 units do not have a kitchen.

Greetings,
Brigitte
