Is there any news regarding the new camp that was going to open in the Crooks Corner area?

Thank you Lesego. Ndloti, I agree with you, but I'm afraid that that is not going to happen. I am happy that most people think the far North is just too far away.

I was privileged to have visited the old TEBA Pafuri camp on a few occasions - A truly special area of the Park. TEBA has now been closed and a new SANParks camp is planned for the area.

My understanding is that the "new" camp will be the old TEBA camp, albeit refurbished an operated by SANParks.

I would really enjoy being able to stay at that site. Can't wait for it to be available.

Morning all :hello:

Johanrebel is right. There is no new camp planned for Crookes Corner. What we are busy with is the planned renovation and upgrade of the old TEBA facilities close to the Pafuri Border post that will become part of our Tourism accommodation inventory. Added to this we are also planning to provide for a Rustic camping site in the Pafuri area on a site to be determined by an EIA process.

At least there is some light in that a rustic camp & not a Spa resort is planned .
Will the TEBA camp upgrade be an upmarket set up ?

Music to my ears. I submitted a proposal to SANParks a while back for the creation of rustic "low impact" camping sites for 6 persons max. Lets hope we see more like this and less Malelane/Skukuza 'creations' (for lack of a better word).
