We stopped off there in Feb this year for brunch and were the only people there the entire time.
Even the attendant only came to give us our skottel and then disappeared again.
Everything was as neat and tidy as ever but I must admit, while it was wonderful to have the peace and quiet it was a little unnerving being there on our own and the little wooden fences around the area looked very very inadequate plus our car was parked some distance away.
Some ellies did wander across the road and over to a waterhole while we were there but slightly below the actual picnic area.

Elsa we had the same thing last November...........lovely in one way to be so peaceful, but we also found it a bit unnerving............if I'd seen your ellies, we would have been outta there.

Great photo’s Elsa. I think it captures the spirit of Babalala in a very perfect way
You did not perhaps see the python in the thatch roof that was there some time ago :D

No, we did have a look where it was before and the thatch didn't look at all disturbed so it looks as if might have moved but we still didn't sit under the original spot just in case! 8)

Some interesting reading on the Mooiplaas Picnic Site
