When staying in one of the safari tents along the fence in Letaba........the birdlife is awesome, especially at sunset and sunrise. We sat for hours and watched numerous species of birds flying over the fence to perch in the trees above the tents, also a very good spot to see a variety of birdlife is if staying in a bungalow in Berg en Dal, we were very blessed to be allocated number 21, the birdlife was amazing, so if one day you want a "camp day" as we call it, sitting in camp is a wonderful, learning experience

Gudzani dam is definately my favourite place to just sit and enjoy.
We usually get there after a successful S100 trip (which has a number of its own places to sit and watch) and eat up time before we dig in for breakfast at N'Wanetsi

There's a little road off the Mahonie Loop that goes down to a dismantled waterhole. We often sit there for a while. Last time out there was a puddle that was attracting visitors. We sat there for about 45 minutes and saw 25 species of bird and 3 species of antelope.

Letaba waterfront - watching lines of elis cross the riverbed.

Lake Panic - anytime of day - always amazing!

Matambeni Hide - always productive.

Shimuwini - SO (Peregrine Falcon) and I love this camp. In particular the bird hide, SO's record for time spent in there 2 years ago was 9 hours (allowing for brief visits back to the room to take on more fluid or let some out!) We always try to stay 3 nights so that the middle full day can be a quick early drive round the loop and then back to camp to settle for the day. Bliss!

Sunset Dam is also a great spot.
As it is only seconds away from LS camp, you can sit there right up to gate closing time.

The options are endless in Kruger.

Sunset dam, Transport dam, mathekenyane, lake panic, Stevenson Hamilton outloo this is just to name a few of our favourites.

When me and my SO visit Balule without the kids  , we spend a lot of time at Olifants camp viewpoint as well as the outlook before you turn to camp.

What a great topic.
Our favourites are - any of the benches along the river front at Letaba.
Lake Panic (even if its full of people)
the verandah of the cottage closest to the waterhole at Orpen
at Malalene camp - the seat overlooking the river (down in the left hand corner) - as this is usually the first camp we stay in it puts us in Kruger mode.

THE LONGING FOR KRUGER IS NOT HELPED BY THIS TR
