As a long time and very regular visitor to the Kruger I have to weigh in on the side of Skukuza here. I love this camp - I stay away from the shop / restaurant area and find it is quiet & peaceful. The area around the shop/parking/reception is manic - but it simply fades away once you get to your accommodation. There are SO many roads to travel - and 50% of these are quiet peaceful and productive! I have watched wild dogs, elephants, Leopards, Rhino groups with maybe one other car joining the sighting. I have spent many happy hours watching ducks, klipspringer, impala herds , birds of prey, giant snails and the like in complete silence!

That said - there is so much to see and experience - explore as many camps and roads as you can - that way you get to experience so many different vistas and so much beauty!

I love Skukuza - but the Letaba river holds my heart, the Oliphants camp is breathtaking, Biyamiti is so very special, and croc Bridge has delivered some of the most exciting viewing - from the bungalow patio!!! And then there is Punda ..... such difficult :hmz: decisions and all of them bring their own happiness :D

Bush Fan  I agree 100%. Each camp has its own special magic.

Your post has left me wanting to pack my bags and head that-a-way.

hi Bush Fan and MM

- I couldn't agree more on the variety of camps being one of Kruger's unique features.
Each one is so different in its history, the style it is built, what the game viewing is like in the area (and from the camp), which people go there, etc etc.

The choices are always hard to make....but fun :D
