Did you have any choice for alternative accommodation?
Which camp or camps have you now got?

Your choice will depend on what's available elsewhere in the park for the dates you had booked - we were prepared to change our dates from easter week end to the following weekend as we still had to be in school holidays for the family'ssake = we got 2 nights Mopani and 3 nights Olifants (3 to 7April) and we are satisfied

I`m new in this forum.
I have also asked my question on the forums page : "Best Bungalows Situation". Hope I have not created any confusion.
I have visited Kruger several times since 1978 but never had been in Sirheni.
Originally I had booked Shingwedzi but had to swop because they closed Shingwedzi due to the floods for the whole year. It is such a pitty I love Shingwedzi, it is my favourite camp.

SIRHENI - I have a booking there in September for a Unit GC6. From the camp map I can see that the only Unit GC6 is the Bungalow No. 14.

Is there anyone who has ever stayed in Sirheni No. 14. I new from the Forums Sirheni-page that No. 15 must have a very good view.

My question : Does the Unit 14 in Sirheni has a good view onto the dam ??
Hope someone is able to help me.

Sirheni a so beautiful camp
I was in #15 and it was fabulous, beside the fence and a huge view onto the dam (in front and to the left side)
#14 maybe has a little bit more trees... but can't remember exactly, sorry

SIRHENI Unit 14 - I have a booking in September for a Unit GC6. From the camp map I can see that the only Unit GC6 is the Bungalow No. 14.

don`t worry, Sirheni was offered to me instead of Shingwedzi so it must be open in September.

But still my question is not answerred so far, I`m really looking forward for some help :
Does someone know the Unit No. 14 in Sirheni,
I would like to know if there is a nice view onto the dam ? (booking code GC6)

Unit 14 is fine.
We stayed there.
The view from the terrace is not as exclusive as from 15, but you can see the water. You can also hear what's going on too. I was back and forwards to the fence (10 metres away), like a yo yo.
Also, you have the hide close, and a nice short-cut to reception.

many thanks for your answer. I`m glad to hear that No. 14 will have a view onto the water. I understand that the view is more less through the trees in front. - Anne-Marie remembers (but not sure) that there are trees in front of no. 14.
I think we will enjoy it.

I wonder if you can all clarify something for me?

We will be visiting Sirheni for the first time, early July 2013. With regards to the petrol situation, which is the closest camp in order to fill up petrol? Im assuming it is Shingwedzi, but is the petrol station operational at the moment?

Would greatly appreciate some more information.

Gabi, the latest report says camping at Shingwedzi is to be opened by 15th June, not sure if the petrol station will be up and running tho, otherwise it will be Punda Maria as the next closest.
