I have a photo taken in the late 1940's and Yup same chairs even then .. Cant scan it as its of poor quality BUT you can see those very uncomfortable chairs..and people with very strange clothes are sitting on them .

I do think those are the same chairs, but the coats of paint must be almost as thick as the wood by now! :P

Was there yesterday, just before World Cup kickoff!

(The Park was like a graveyard most of the day!)

Image

This elephant strolled around quite undisturbed by the tourists...who went pretty close!

Also a bit of soccer going on!

Image

(Look how empty the place is!)

And something bad: An overflowing drain...trickling into the river!

Thx for sharing our domestic problems with the world Richpins :)
Yes these things happen at Tshokwane as well. It was sorted out the next day.
Since it is deemed important I must state that is is grey kitchen water and that it did not run into any river.
Now if somebody could post a nice pic or two in place of those ugly ones I would appreciate it:)

OK David , how about this one :

And then an amusing incident some years ago , at the time when there was still a curio shop at Tshokwane .
A bus arrived , and tourists streamed all over the place .
After looking at the lapa , one elderly gentleman came rushing into the shop , and said to his lady companion : " Eva , Eva , come qvickly ! I vont you to see zis amazing erection ! "
My SO and I just collapsed with laughter    And we still chuckle about every time we visit Tshokwane . :)

David's father starts the fire very early and as soon as the first guests arrive they can enjoy a perfect Boerie- or Kudu roll with Sheba.

Thanks... , now I have thought myself hungry...why do I have to wait so long!!!! Is there anything better, other than a Kruger pan breakfast, than pap and wors, or a boerie roll for breakfast?

Three of the best meals I had in the park. Breakfast @ Nkuhlu was also very good.

Bennievis, a peaceful moment, sans people, I see; rare indeed.

Okie, :funny: :funny: story!

MM, love the boerie roll ... notice you even took your spectacles off so as not to get them covered in sauce while eating.

Darn, I either stare at pictures of food or become embroiled in discussion of food on the forum every time I am starving. That boerie roll looks larger than life at the moment ...
