They seem to be replacing pipes currently and there is a deep trench running across the picnic area
As the toilets are closed there are portable toilets available.

And they are kept very clean too   . I forgot to put on the "engaged" sign
when I had to visit one of them :| and a lady open the door and     . So please do remember to put on the "engaged sign'. Sorry lady.

Oh no need to worry all was decent, I was busy washing my hands.

Suebfly the restaurant was operating as usual when we were there. We had Pap and Wors served with tomato and onion sauce and it was . The other picnic goers were busy preparing their breakfasts on the skottels and doing gymnastics at the same time to keep their breakfasts and belongings safe as the monkeys were very busy that morning :D .

Your French toast and syrup looks nice :) 8)

Everything did seem to be as normal bar the usual toilets and the trench
and the guy who thought it a good idea to let off some pepper spray right in front of us to deter a monkey.
Had us choking and coughing which kind of spoilt lunch.!!

That is melodramatic, Elsa, and shows that the patron has little clue how to read animal behaviour. Also, said individual had little consideration for guests about him. Amazing you were so calm and accepting.

SO was about to go and speak to him once we realised what it must have been that he had in his hand, and we had recovered ourselves when they quickly packed up and left.
Sure he saw our reactions and suddenly decided that removing himself was the best option!!
But not a pleasant experience.

Pepper spray Elsa isn't that a bit drastic  I thought pepper spray was for little old ladies who wander round the streets alone at night .. .to spray at nasty peeps who want their handbags

Unfortunately I have to disagree with Grantmissy, when we visited Tshokwane about 10 days ago the toilets were extremely dirty with no appropriate washing facility outside so that you can at least wash your hands. There was one lady giving, it seems, as little water as possible to anyone who wants to wash there hands and no soap was available....no soap and no smiles as well.

I sincerely hopes they finish construction as soon!!

When we popped into use the portaloos again on the way back down a week ago, they had installed much better ones.
They even included a basin with soap and paper towels for drying your hands.
