Swimming Pool questions

Unread postby Salva » Thu Jan 15, 2015 4:18 pm

Hello,

Does one have acces to the pool of for instance, Mopani when he/she is staying at Letaba but goes north for the whole day? I will be visiting in october with a 4 year old so it is important for me in order to schedule my days (more or less  )

In most camps you would have access ... Mopani however if I remember has a sign saying that it's only for guests staying there.

However, I have never seen it being enforced.

You don't need to show any permits to access a pool.

OK. In that case my son will accidently fall into the Mopani pool, me and my wife will than jump in the pool to save him and we will only be able to pull him out of the water about...let's say...euh...30 to 45 minutes after he fell in. For some strange reason we will be walking around that day in our swimming suits.

Saw a post from Joep end of last year that as long as you were overnighting in the park, you had access to any pool.

Great! Thanks for the info both of you. Would like to do the Capricorn loop on a day trip from Letaba but that would have to include a dip in the Mopane pool to keep my boy calm. :D

Yip, most definitely contradictory statements...
Hopefully we can get some additional feedback.

Joep Stevens wrote:Dear Elsa & Dries & others,

Overnight guests in the Park, are most welcome to use swimming pools in other camps during their stay. Please ensure that they keep their travel docket/ permit with them in order to be able to prove this.

With kind regards.

Very curious to hear the final result now.

I would hate to have to argue with camp managers about this issue.

Dear Salva

i was in the park last week with a 19 month old and a quick dip in the pool did wonders for him.

as fas as i understand as long as you are a overnight visitor in the park you are allowed to use the pools. as it says no day visitors. they also dont check you before you enter the pool area.

we stayed at Tamboti and dipped in Satara, Skukuza and Orpen pool
