This requires clarification.

Although Pafuri Camp does of course have contingency plans, and will provide any assistance they can in the case of life-threatening emergencies, it is a tented camp which does not even have air conditioning, nor do they provide resting space in the event of ANY emergency.
Pafuri Camp is a game lodge, not a medical clinic.

As advised, those needing medical help should rather go to the border post.

Love this spot....

However, I'm gonna inspect in a few weeks whether they have finally managed to get rif of that horrible generator noise so close to the picnic spot.

In 2008 they haven't even heard of isolation boxes placed 2 meters deep into mother earth

Maybe I'll be digging and mixing cement

Can't wait

There is an article on Frank Mabasa at Pafuri Picnic Spot in the Spring edition of WILD Magazine.

The article was written by my wife (ndoto here on the forum).

We have placed the article on our website (AfricaBliss). If you go to the PUBLICATIONS page and click on the appropriate image, the article will open where you can read it all.

Enjoy!

Greetings fellow forumites.

Can anyone tell me what the status is of the Pufuri picnic spot. I am going on leave in June and will be in that vicinity? Is it open as yet or when will it be reopened?

Greeting to all

Can anyone tell me what is happening with the TEBA facility? I read in a Weg magazine that it was to be developed as a camp?

I left the Makuleke CNP on Monday the 11th. From what I could see from the tar (well, formerly tar) road the previous afternoon, Nyala Drive (S64), looked liked it had just been born again. Lots of graders and other shiny heavy equipment all lined up ready to tackle the S63 to Crooks'.

Thanks Johanrebel. Looks like we may be able to once again enjoy that beautiful area of the park in the near future.

The roadside less than 200m north of the Levuhvu bridge - the "tree looking" object is actually a gabion (wire net containing stones) which appeared to have been rolled up by the water flow which was more or less perpindicular to the road direction .
