Leo, you can either call or send an e-mail to the camp, in Tamboti's case its to Orpen camp.

Leo, I think that I have. It was either eight or nine. :hmz: It is rather well situated, quite close to the ablutions and kitchen area. All the tents have views, so that is never a problem in Tambotie.

Leo, I have stayed at Tambotie many times and experienced many tents. I think this might be when I stayed in that area. It is the little path leading to the tent.

Translation: I would like to know from the regular visitors if there is space next to the safari tents to park a trailer while we drive around. Someone on F/B said that there is no space, so should we rather think of going to Maroela and camping there with our own tent

Daar is by elke tent genoeg plek om die trailer te los. Baie lekker kamp. Ons April daar gebly. Wees net versigtig vir ape en bobbejane, ratels kuier elke aand en keer die asblik op stoep om

Translation: There is enough space next to each tent to leave a trailer. Very nice camp. We stayed there in April. Just be careful of the Baboons, monkeys, Honey Badgers who visit each night and once overturned the rubbish bin

We are finally, after many years' gap, returning to the wonderful Tamboti on Saturday for 4 nights, staying in the luxury tents :D . From reading the forums I see that the animal activity in the camp has increased significantly since we were last there so I would like some advice from people who have been there more recently. We will secure the fridge with straps as we always do; if foodstuff and drinks are shut in the cupboards in the kitchen area are they safe from raiding, or does one need to take all foodstuff into the tent? Also, is there any way of padlocking the kitchen cupboards to keep them safe?

I would appreciate any feedback from the experts

Thanks

Cathy, the fridges are now all installed in metal cages so as long as the doors remain firmly bolted that should be fine.
We have one of those big black study plastic storage boxes that we keep all our foodstuff in and store it inside and have not a problem to date.
