TD, we stayed in 32 in Feb, and I do not recall having much of a view. But it was a lovely, newly renovated cottage, and we enjoyed or stay there a great deal. The nightjars were so entertaining as they seemed to fly just in front of the cottage and settle in the trees opposite.

It now has a full kitchen on the verandah 8)

We stayed in 36 once, it had a not too bad view, if I can remember correctly the FQU14V was basically in front of us, but we still had some kind of view of the Olifantss river.

Maybe when it's close to your stay in December, you could maybe try and ask if they can allocate 36 to you.

Hi Mark, I think we can just keep tabs in here and able to get a better idea of how the renovations are progressing nearer the time.
but I can't imagine they would not be done in 6 months time.
especially in light of the announcement by Stephens.

Tentdweller if you mean the ones that face East - BD3U then go for 111 or 110 there are no trees in front that block the view - I posted photos on the ACCOMMODATION PHOTOS thread - you can lie on the bed and watch the river and animals - heaven

Sandybabe and Lepardfan

We've just returned from a wonderful vacation and happened to have stayed at Olifants for 4 nights.
The swimmingpool is very far from being complete, mind you that is an overstatement, construction is moving at a snail pace. In fact, the hole where the pool is to be is still a hole, well partly that is. Fortunately this was a great excuse for us to travel to Letaba daily for our midday dip and that was in itself a lovely experience. The new reception is looking all swanky and I must say now that that part of the renovations are done it seems the pool will receive some attention

One needs to remember that the camps are located deep inside the bush and any construction can take a seriously long time

Dear Valued Guest

I trust this corrospondance finds you well.
During the construction of the Olifants camp swimming pool there has been delays as follows:

1. A lot of rocks were discovered and needed to be removed where the pool will be constructed.
2. Heavy rain falls in the park also hindered the completion of the pool.

According to Kruger National Park: Technical Services Department friday, 13 March 2015 the swimming pool will be completed.
The renovation of Bungalows is ongoing in Olifants camp.

We apologise for any inconvinience caused the delays.

Pics taken two weeks ago of the pool. (through a hole in the shadecloth fence, so not the greatest pics!)

Hello,
Do any of you have opinions on which Olifants guesthouse is better, Lebombo or Nshawu? Pros and cons of each?
Thanks so very much!

I haven't stayed at Lebombo but have had a couple of stays at Nshawu and IMO that is the one to go for! 8)

Have a read through Guest Houses in Kruger for some info and pics!
