Does anyone know how the renovations are going at Olifants. It was a nightmare when I was there in February - putting in drains (or something) in front of just about all the bungalows plus all the other things that were going on around the camp and restaurant area. I gave the camp a miss in June but am now wondering if it will be safe to go back in November??

Dear 'Mites;

Upgrading is still taking place and the completion date is set for around September, but this may just prolong a little bit because there have been some delays. We will give you a more detailed feedback closer to the completion time. Apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused. :gflower:

Just got back from Olifants, currently busy working on units 40 - 51, and new reception area, then day visitors and swimming pool, still going to be a while.

Overall the camp feeling was great ,staff friendly and the m&b setting and set up looks world class!!

Stayed in unit number 9, sitting on your stoep it feels like the only unit in the camp !!! :clap: :clap: :clap:

Hi, just spent sometime sending off emails to request specific accommodation when we come in September. From the camp map I think I can only see 1 FQ4V2 cottage at Olifants, number 14, does anyone know if this is correct. Daft me requesting a specific cottage if there is only 1 :lol:

Have used the thread labelled Best Unit Numbers a lot, really helpful and must have had lots of effort gone into it, thank you :thumbs_up:

Hi Merlin11.

As far as I know number 14 is the only one. :thumbs_up:

Hope you have a wonderful stay.

FQ4U1 - no 18 has the same view but only one bathroom which is not so great. I think that no 14 is the most popular cottage in the whole of Olifants and very hard to get. We usually take 2 x BD2V - unfortunately a lot more expensive but for me that view is priceless and I will give up something else to have that view. I don't know how many you are but the BD3U are super - recently refurbished and really nice if there are 3 who are prepared to share. It faces east so does not have the usual river view but the view is still stunning and the cottage is extremely comfortable, I have put photos of those on the ACCOMMODATION PHOTO site

Thanks Lepardfan and Suebfly.

From what you are saying it sounds like we were really lucky to get this cottage :dance:

There are 3 of us coming, one of which is my dad in his 80's, he wouldn't enjoy his holiday if he shared a bedroom with us, and I wouldn't enjoy my holiday if my dad was in separate accommodation to us, I would be worried about him on his own. So ideally our accommodation needs to be under one roof and 2 bedrooms for us to all enjoy :dance:
