Hi Guys,

Just curious 2 know if any1 has had a really interesting experience at this dam.Drove to it for the 1st time on 04/08/07 & got the "feeling" that this dam could yield some good sightings though I had only seen some general game.

Also its nice & quiet.Away from the beaten track as they say...

Like to hear from someone. :|

Donny, I've seen Lion at the dam. The big sighting seen, however was a Black Rhino and calf about 5 km from the dam.

I have not seen anything spectacular at the dam itself, but once followed a cheetah on the H5 up to the S102 turn-off for several km's. At the turn-off he/she decided to take a rest in the middle of the road and lied there for several minutes before disappearing into the tall grass.

Thanks to Mm & Stoffel,

Always good 2 know that any given place can provide a good sighting opportunity.Black rhino must have been special & how I would luv to have an experience with a cheetah like that.

Been to the park umteen times but yet 2 c cheetah.A group of us went & for whatever reason I took a different route & guess what? They saw 2 cheetah & i've been hearing about it from them ever since !!!

Can't wait 2 get back to the park to even the scores.. .

Did get 2 c black rhino on the S1 (Doispane Rd) near Nyamundwa, right next 2 road feeding & very comfortable with my relative close presence. Not other vehicles in sight...

I saw a big buffalo herd (400-500 buffalos) at Mpondo Dam in May 2005. Just before that I also saw a cheetah on the H5 close to the S102 turn off.
