Hi,

I have forwarded this to Orpen Duty Manger to confirm if this is indeed a ranger.

Thanks

This is one of the anti-poaching/security force members deployed in Kruger National Park as part of the anti-poaching effort. His dog seems to have been thirsty!

The kill at Satara yesterday seems to have been made by a coalition of males, but is it usual to have youngsters and an old male together? Lion male coalitions I have read about or seen pictures of usually seem to be brothers or at least animals of similar age.

Perhaps these lions are related?

Anyone with any ideas?

Hi Chirinda, :yaya:

During our KNP holiday in July 2011 we saw a group of 3 male lions near the power station East of Satara(at a no-entry road), during a Morning drive.
It looks as if it could be the same group: two young male Lions and one older male Lion.
The driver/guide told us that they have often been seen in the area of Satara.
Maybe I can find the pictures and upload them later....

I think it was a cat of some sort, but unfortunately the cam didn't get a good view

Maybe it was a Leopard or a Lion
