Hi MRO - I think the cam in a better position might help, cause if this gets streamed to YOUTUBE no-one will see anything.

It has been left in a zoomed in position some nights which is much better!

Fortunately it is touring at the mo..

Not sure if this was the reason the light was bad or that just happened today?

Looks like it is being fixed

Hi JJ

I'll check on the Nossob flood lights - there are two flood lights at Nossob.

Danie

Is there a chance the cam and/or lights at Nossob can be checked? This is what we are seeing and it is very poor

During the day, there are DEFINETLY smudge marks on the cam cover! This may be affecting the night viewing :hmz:

Thanks again

This weekend, Sunday in particular Orpen is offline  Why always on the weekend?

It is soooooo irritating to see that green screen

Perhaps they could put a picture of some beautiful animal or bird, still with the words as is???

Now that is a good idea, JJ ! 8)
Perhaps lions @Nossob, wild dog @Orpen, ellies @Addo and leopard @Satara ?
Probably not practical to have different images though :hmz:

Brilliant idea! I agree on the impracticality of different images - how about a collage then? :hmz:

I still wonder why Addo goes black in the mornings although we've been able to see something until a minute ago or so. :hmz:

:hmz: Isn't it that the light is maybe switched off while it is still dark now in winter?

I always wondered if it was to do with a generator, since it seems to go off at roughly the same time each morning? :hmz:

Or maybe just a time-switch? Don't know Addo at all, so I don't know whehther there's a gennie. Know there's one at Nossob, that's why that goes off at 23H00.

That's what I thought (and uttered some time ago) as well. But know we'll learn via Matthys hopefully. Thanks for asking!

Thanks for the information bishop3006!

Ok, I plead "not guilty" :) I was not on the Addo cam at all! SO wasn't me! hehe

What I think happened is that something caused the "tour' to get stuck! When Matthys informed me about this (thanks Matthys!), I logged onto the webcam but could not move it, even with the "touring" switched off. The cam was stuck 'looking' at the pole supporting it!

A reboot did the trick! Addo is fine and touring again!

The Addo webcam is for some reason getting stuck at a specific position wth the touring option activated. I have switched the touring off for now and will try and see what the problem is if the touring is creating the problem.

I have positioned the Addo webcam at a wide angle shot of the main portion of the waterhole.

I'll reprogram the touring again and see if it resolves the problem. Will keep you up to date!

Happy camming!
