Sorry - the other thing I noticed is that when I'm online (I don't hide my online status) - my name appears at the bottom of the (forum) page - but it says I am "offline" next to my name and picture...

Not sure if anyone else has had this either? :hmz:

We all had a problem loading the site early this morning, Mel.
Please let me know when you have such a problem again.

I will also check your profile when I see you online

Does it never show that you are online next to your name Mel?

The online status is set to refresh every one minute so if you are not active such as refreshing a page within that minute it will show you are off line on the bottom of the page. It used to be every 5 mins between refreshes, but about a year ago this was changed.

This isn't quite a cam question - but is (I guess) IT related...
Is anyone else having problems loading the SANParks pages?

Over the last couple of weeks - at reasonably frequent intervals - I haven't been able to load any of the pages (webcams / forums)... it just comes up with an "unavailable" message.

I don't think this is my computer because I can always load up other web pages at the same time...

Is this just me or is anyone else having the same problems? :hmz:

Hi Mel :D

Yes, I have experienced the same thing over the past weeks, but I thought it might have been scheduled downtime during the SA night.

I wonder if it also happens during the SA daytime when us Aussies are sleeping :hmz:

I think I may have worked this one out...
I just installed Tapatalk on my phone (and accessed the SANParks forum from here) - so maybe this has something to do with it?

Carol g - do you use Tapatalk as well?

Please note that we are taking Orpen Webcam video streaming "off the air" for about 30 minutes we are running some bandwidth tests to Orpen.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Any news on the status of the Nossob cam? It seems to have been down for about two weeks now.

Hi

It has now been some many weeks if not at least a month that the NOSSOB webcam is down.

While I completely understand the sites are in the deepest bush and away from 10GB fibre lines and requires a "thesis" of support. The contstant lack of recovery does make it appear that the webcam is not receiving any attention.

Feedback to the viewers would surely be the right approach and not impossible.

Working in ICT I get the same constant "demands" from our users and simple feedback usually answers all queries and creates understanding and acceptance of the challanges. While lack of feedback creates frustration.

Good day All :gflower:

We apologise for the inconveniences.

Herewith the latest feedback we got from our technicians:

The Wireless access point that was faulty was replaced but seems there is a issue on the webcam side itself we are planning to go through to site to attend Tuesday / Wednesday this week.

Hopefully this week it will be sorted.

Thanks for your understanding.
