Hi all

Sorry is this has been posted before, but I think this is cool
This is a link to the SA Weather service cams, and it has a cam in Skukuza. Now you can check the weather when ether you like.

Just a quick update with regard to weather on the site... Soon (hopefully within next week) we'll be showing a 7 day forecast for all parks and the Kruger camps.

We'll post a news item to let you know...

I am not sure what you are referring to as the Satara weather cam or with which other cams should it be displayed with? The webcam at Satara is not a weathercam but gves a glimpse or small virtual window on nature in our paradise!

Satara webcam is one of 3 webcams in SANParks:

• Satara webcam in Kruger National Park
• Orpen webcam in Kruger National Park
• Nossob webcam in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

You will be able to see if it is raining or not at the webcams but they are not weathercams (although I might not understand you completely?)

Please give more info then we can try and assist you!

I do believe that that cam is not a SANParks cam. Maybe Danie can confirm?

The cam you are referring to as the weather cam via the link DuQues gave above is not a SANParks camera and is part of the weather radar station installation outside Skukuza operated by the South African Weather Service.

It is not at Satara but north of Skukuza in the bush at their weather radar station.

Does this clear it up?

The weather cam is just what the name says, a weather cam and the intention for that cam is not to be a wildlife or nature or scenic cam at all. It is also fixed, no pan-tilt-zoom and is not SANParks property nor can we put a link to it on our website.

Please utilise the link as per DuQue earlier to access it via the SA Weather Services website (the cam at the weather radar installation belongs to SA Weather Service as said).

The SANParks webcams are available all on one page SANParks Webcams.

You will be able to see all 3 SANParks webcams on one page (still excluding the weather camera you referred to (non-SANParks))

The small virtual window is just my way of saying we try and provide our virtual visitors (via the Internet) a small glimpse through a 'window' on your monitor on nature in some of our national parks. So although you can't physically be there watching the waterhole, we provide you with a means via a 'window' to do almost the real thing!

Can somebody please supply me with exact location of the Kruger cams on a map?

No, but they are easy to find.

The Nossob cam is situated at the hide in the Nossob camp.
The Satara cam is situated in front of the dining area at the Satara cafeteria. There is a waterhole.
The Orpen cam is situated at the waterhole visible from the road leading out from the main entrance, also visible from the camp itself.

Please note that these are the Webcams, and not the weather cam this thread relates to.
