Although with the cam now being offline, I hope it's nothing serious

Cam chit chat

Unread postby Justjules » Thu Jun 20, 2013 11:15 pm

First time posting something - just wanted to say thank you for capturing the gorgeous pics of the (I think?)young lion at Satara this evening. Am a relatively new cammer - absolutely 'hooked' and have been watching avidly for a few weeks. Was v sad to miss the leopard at Orpen :( and have been dying for my first webcam cat sighting! Saw the lion is evening at Satara but with a temperamental iPad, I can't upload pics so was thrilled to see it had been captured under highlights! It's always amazing to be able to go to these highlights to see what I missed while not 'at the screen' so a HUGE thanks to the diligent cammers who capture it all for others to enjoy :gflower:

Hi Justjules :yaya:

Welcome to the forums  Nice to hear you're hooked already :D

The cat earlier was an African Wild Cat, so much smaller than a lion. Once you get used to the perspective of the different cam shots it makes it easier to work out the size of creatures. Hope to see you posting some pics on these threads soon

Hey Mel,

I saw this as well last night... just too busy working to have time to post
I think whatever the 'meat' is was brought in by a hyena earlier as you see here:

Happy camming

Hi PJL :D :D

I wondered what had happened just before I logged on and found the jackals tucking into their meal

Thanks for clearing up the mystery :gflower:

But now I'm left wondering how the jackals got the meat off the hyena?? :hmz:
