Thank you, Matthysie and grannyb! It actually already feels like
I haven't been away at all. Still too cold in Central Europe and I
miss the heat.

grannyb, the provision of cold drinks was excellent - thank you.
Just a favour to ask: Next time, please remind us to get enough
replenishment before a Sunday. :slap:

Hi lovely cammers!!! :yaya:

I am sitting at Satara as I type - it is 10.35pm, and we have just been for a walk to the cam site...
It is so difficult to see through the long grass, but we can hear trees snapping, so wonder if the ellies are still close by? Also swear we heard hyenas, good chance of that really...

There were also lions sighted very close by this evening - so a chance they may turn up tonight

If I had the energy I would sit by the fence all night waiting, but we drove from Jo'burg today via Blyde Canyon, and were on the road for 10 loooooong hours :zzz

Thanks for the lovely wishes, very exciting to be here again after so long.

"See" you all soon! :D

Hi there Whoaa Luiperd,

Sorry for the late reply. You are correct in saying that Brownies get most of their fluids from kills (but so does plenty of the other predators in the Kgalagadi), but due to the fast distances they travel at night looking for food they will stop at water holes to drink as they are not always lucky to find something to eat.

We have had the situation where we at Twee Rivieren would find up to 5 Brownies in a night.

Hope it helps and if there is anything else we could assist with please just let us know.
