Btw Spook and cammers ... there is no shortage of warthogs; I am almost sure you will see them very, very often on the cam. I'd say you'll see them everyday, but if I am wrong I might get a from some cammers

Don't thank me I only play a very small role in a much, much bigger team! The rest of the team did most of the work in the background and behind the scenes and are still doing it (on site in **** (you know where) and elsewhere in the process).

The final technical hurdle preventing the webcam to transmit via the WAN (Wide Area Network) of SANParks was resolved this afternoon and I could access the webcam at **** (you know where) from Pretoria.

Well done to the whole (**** (you know where))-team and all technicians involved; from the splicing of fiber optic cable to the webcam, sorting out of IP addresses, ensuring the power was supplied correctly, the height of the webcam to ensure a nice view without obscuring our visitors' view at **** (you know where) itself, etc.

I am monitoring the webcam from this side and are still making certain adjustments to the settings/programming of the webcam from Pretoria making sure that the image you will be getting from *** (you know where) via our website on Internet, will be the best possible. The data link to **** (you know where) has also been upgraded last week by the telecom company (from which the webcam will also benefit).

When does this webcam go live??? Watch this space ..patience is needed a bit longer...

One last thing: the location of this webcam will also be announced soon as I doubt it if anybody knows where the location of the new webcam is

Now this is good news indeed! Well worth the wait when it gets online. Surely beats sitting next to kids' hospital beds! More videos to watch now that I've got time again!
