Hi guys

A friend of me found this little one in his back garden, barely a day old No nest in sight. 3 weeks later and this is what we have now. Please can anyone tell me what bird it is? he resides in Nelspruit.

Sorry about the quality

I' will give it a go as a Thrush. Otherwise pamper it and hand fed it till its fully grown.
Good Luck :)

Well, Im hoping for a Yellow horn bill

They got special food from the vet and the little one is getting stronger by the day

I have a go - away bird (kwevoel) as well, and he is my baby in the house.

His best friend is the Jack Russel, who, will lie on his back for Coenie (my birdies name) to groom his tummy. Also found him as a baby! he walks around freely in the house and cuddles like a baby. Will post a pic later.

My first guess is a thrush - but depends where you live - and when you found it

Good luck and keep us updated as to the progress.

Thanks for trying

It is not that you're a poor 'mum', but he was on a hiding to nothing to start with.

Thanks for letting us know Stellie... I guess few of them do make it without their biological parents... :(

I'm going for a Karoo Thrush.

Slightly downward curved bill. Not straight like a Kingfishers.

Has anyone thought to ask the parents :D
