How many different species of bird have you in Southern Africa?

At one stage I had 563... Then lightning struck and now I'm on 481!

I'm only on 337, but I've only been keeping a photographic list for about a year now, and also lost about 50 species when my hard drive crashed at the beginning of the year. Hope to get it up to about 500 by the end of this year or early next year.

I got 1, only one, called a Lesser yellow legs, in Kruger.

Dotdan, I am in Kruger this week, and my pic was taken with a Jobo, You know, those things that can show the GPS co-ords on the pic, come round then I can choke you with the pic.

I spend 250 days in Kruger, a year, and I do have the goods, but I must be honest, some of you birding types look down on others, and I really know what a LYL looks like, even though there were only 30 sightings in 300 years.

They saw Saddle bills in the Kalahari the other day, you forgot to send them the memo on where to fly man, dang, sort those birdies out.

But let me put a challenge out to you and the others that decide who may see what birds. I will put together a team of Big5'ers, one weekend in Kruger, and we see who got the most nice birdies.
