Taken on the Sweni Road (S126).



On my next trip I came across a juvenile Bateleur who was shedding his feathers for a mature 'look' and had a mixture of both plumages. He looked stunning but my photo does not do him justice so I have not posted his photo.

We saw quite an interesting interaction between a young Bateleur and a White-backed Vulture in Kruger last week Saturday.
They were both just riding the thermals when the Bateleur decided it did not want to share its airspace LOL

This young Bateleur was having a great time catching flying ants on the S86 and allowed me to get fairly close. Taken in Nov 2010.

You know, when I look at these photos all over the forums, I realise that with my little 10x zoom FinePix S1000 I just won't be able to take photos of birds - it's like a spec in the photo... "You see that there? That's the bird"

Maybe, one day, when I'm big and my ship has arrived... (But then, with my luck, it will come via Somalia... )
