Lark, Large-billed

This second one was perched right next to the road and stayed there, posing and singing, allowing me to get quite close

The second is a Thick-billed Lark

Note the
* heavy streaking on the breast
* yellow base of the bill
* thickish bill
* lacking a prominent white supercillium

Hope this helps

Thanks, HL and RJ — especially to HL for the detailed listing of the differences 8) Lots to learn, larks are very puzzling still :wall: :D

I don't see a topic for this lark, so here's on that posed nicely for me 8) (and serenaded me as well!) along Darling Hills Road on 24 October 2011.
