After some investigation and deliberation it turns out that the Common Cuckoo was in fact a juv. African Cuckoo. I did however find relief from this crushing news at Punda Mania this past weekend.

Currently on 360 - Eurasian Golden Oriole (overlooked on my KNP list), Fawn-coloured Lark, Shaft-tailed Whydah and the highlight of the weekend, Pennant-winged nightjar in aerial display.

Quite an achievement with few birders ever getting to that milestone. I'm working hard on getting there myself.

I'm on 372 after adding the following this past weekend:

Rudd's Apalis

Oops. Make that 374. I forgot about the Flappet Lark near Babalala and Freckled Nightjar on the Klopperfontein road.
