Not a great photo, but it shows the typical behaviour of the Grey Tit-Flycatcher. This fanning of the tail is one of the pointers that can be used to distinguish between this Flycatcher and the similar looking Ashy Flycatcher. The Grey Tit-Flycatcher is a busy little bird, actively foraging in the tree canopies (making it quite difficult to get a good photo :wall: ).
Another feature to look out for is the white outer tail feathers.

Got my Lifer this past trip to Kruger. Had a Grey tit flycatcher wizing around the tree tops at lake panic! The white outer tail feathers the giveaway.

Nice sighting, Ferdelance 8)

We have not had a chance to visit our bush house since the beginning of July when I took the above pic. The weekend of 28 August, 2 months later, was the first time we again could visit Marloth….and Mr./Mrs. Fantail was around the entire weekend, so it seems we have a resident now.
As I mentioned before, it is just so difficult to get a photo….very active birdie.
