Shall I start an offtopic in the first line? whch = Wood Hoopoe or such?
I think all bee-eaters, African Hoopoe, LBR and the Magpie Shrike.
The bee-eaters for their fantastic colors, the hoopoe for its plumage, the LBR for coloring as well, and the shrike for its tail.
I can't choose a first place though.

I know it's probably a bit "common".... but my favourite is the yellow-billed hornbill...... :roll:

When they sit in a tree early in the morning, all puffy and cozy with their "pyjama" pants....... I can watch them for ages........

For some strange reason Yellow Hornbill is my most favourite bird.

Can't choose between the Fish Eagle (Had the pleasure of watching one calling and feeding at Kanniedood Dam - still go goosebumps! 8) ) and the Yellow-billed Hornbill (Can't help but wonder just how tame they will become if hand-reared! :lol: )

EDIT: Actually any Eagle sighting is like a lion sighting to me. Love them all. 8)

My favourite bird is the camp bird(s) at the last camp I stayed at. The white-eye at Augrabies, the red-headed weaver at Letaba, the yellow hornbill at Satara etc.

Currently it is the Kalahari Robin from Vaalbos, with the masked weaver and the rufous-necked nightjar fighting it out for second place.

I will always have a soft spot for the lilac breasted roller as it was probably the bird that got me into birdwatching.
