Well I took my flycatcher to another forum, and it is, in deed, a Pale Flycatcher just in case anyone else was wondering!

You know, I actually feel bad about this.. sorry Salamanda. I was busy writing a reply to your post yesterday when I got distracted here at work and ultimately closed my internet page.

I hope you will continue to post your birding related questions on the forum :D

Thanks DD. I think my post just got lost in a quiet patch. But just in case no one here was able to ID it, I moved on . . . .

I will certainly continue to post queries here thanks. Hope you agreed with the ID?

Salamanda, I found your pic quite a few posts back but if you are referring to this flycatcher, it is a Dusky Flycatcher. Pale flycatcher is a bigger bird with a longish tail and very uniform pale colours on the back and belly with almost no contrast.
Dusky flycatcher numbers increase in Kruger during winter and they have this streaky dirty appearance on the flanks and breast that emphasize the white throat as visible on your pic with the dark upper parts.

Unfortunately I don't agree

Lizet is correct with Dusky Flycatcher.

OK so here is another one. I think it is an African Pipit but would appreciate confirmation/correction. Many thanks.

I would say you are correct with African Pipit.

Hello bird forum, I wonder if all the birds below are lesser swamp warblers, I'm doubting this because of the differences in beak length, coloration and the differences in white stripes above the eyes.

All birds photographed in May this year in Kimberley area

Thank you up front for your help!

I think that this must be a Burchell's starling, but I'm puzzled by the yellow on the bill? Seen along Nyala Drive (Parfuri) on 16 April 2012.

Base on distribution... anne-marie is spot-on

The "bill-cosmetic" is probably pollen.
