So after posting the question if any mites are going to the WNP last weekend and getting no responses I knew I was in for a quiet time in the hides :) . I met a couple from Austria, a couple from the Isle of Man, a couple from Johannesburg, a farmer from Hopefield, an artist from Cape Town, a lady with similar kit from Yzerfontein, a man that wouldn't greet at all, a family of new birders and a couple from France. It is amazing how the birds can bring people of all walks of life and from all corners of the world together in a littler hide om the West Coast of South Africa. I will post a few of my latest images. The first one and certainly most special for me is that of the African Rail. Even though it was raining on Sunday morning to made an brief and very nervous appearance.

Here's one with an aaaaaaaah! factor :D. Nearly all the coot families at Abrahamskraal have chicks at the moment and it is a constant feeding frenzy. Even the juveniles are helping with the feeding of the youngsters.

Thank you ladies...much appreciated.

The next image from the weekend is of a Black Harrier. This bird made its appearance a few numbers during the day. I find it a challenge to shoot these black or dark birds as the feather definition is difficult to achieve. This is one of the clearer images if the series.

Oh wow Touareg..such awesome photos as usual. A trip to WCNP would have been awesome but my little "virus" that took control of my life had other plans for me. The fact that you saw that African Rail makes me even more    I live in hope !!!!!
