Hope everyone had a Happy Christmas!!!

Answers for 1429! Long overdue!!! Pretty easy one 90-100% in the end - thanks to all who participated!

1. Meyer's Parrot - a small patch of yellow on the eyebrow and the more turquoise under parts sets this parrot apart..
Image

2. Meves starling - a glossy starling with a long tapered tail - and the most likely at Mapungubwe!
Image

3. Lesser grey shrike- bit far away photo but fairly identifiable with the mask.
Image

4. Yellow billed stork - again bit far away but the yellow bill and upright stance gives the stork away!
Image

5. Hadeda Ibis - brown ibis with iridescent sheen on wings..
Image

6. Laughing Dove - this was a little tougher - the white on the outer tail feathers ruled out a few doves and the pinkish tinge to the back leads you to the right id.
Image

7. African Fish Eagle - I thought this would be trickier but you all were sharp! white head and neck with a chestnut colour to the wings and that it was splashed into the water gave lots of clues...
Image

8. Southern carmine bee eater - no real problems here if you see that beautiful red/pink feathered friend!
Image

9. Black winged stilt - pied bird with red legs and a straight black bill
Image

10. village indigobird - small finch like bird - dark body and red bills / legs
Image

I will post the answers to the last duck challenge for 2014 at the end of the year!!!! All the best for 2015!!!
