Help me out here please. :? I have not been active in birding for a while now, is this one of the new names? If it is I have to start from scratch to learn all the new names, just like I have to re-learn street names that I lived in.

I see we have a few participants, everyone must first make their choice before I'm going to post the answer.

Yip, Sprocky! New name, stick around you'll pick it up quickly!
(I still have to keep on checking my book.  )

I would say Cape Teal, if it is still the right name. Reason being the bluish upturned bill.

 Thanks Jen, Great idea! Hope I'll get past being a Duckling :D

Name: Cape Teal (Anas capensis) A small, pale-coloured duck with a pink, upturned bill.
Habitat: Shallow lakes, marshes in open country, lagoons, estuaries and tidal flats.

WOW what a great class you began here Mamabird will help where I can with the ducklings, also got a few good rather obvious photo's to post where the ID Challenge was a bit too far forward for those pics!

Always wanted to be some form of teacher, that's why I'm studying for FGASA, this would also help me along!

Oi, Micetta. :?
I thought you can learn from one another that's why I made it an "open answer" thread. If you know what it is then post it, if you don't and someone else answers you can go and check up.

OK, I suppose it is the only feasible way. After all it is not a question of life or death. The last of the class (me) is not going to learn much  that is if I do not copy the photo and only go on the thread when I have a more or less secure and convincing answer :D
