Great quiz, but the diagnostics afterwards are the best. Thank you!

Thanks AdrianP for the information about those juveniles. The robin fledgling is similar in shape to the UK robin fledglings, yet I could not link it to a white starred robin.

I agree, what makes the white starred robin difficult, is that most people have never even seen one, unless they do a lot of forest birding. And are unlikely to have seen the various phases and life cycles of this species. Locally, if you extrapolate the appearance of a juvenile cape robin (orange spots rather than yellow), which most preople are able to see in their gardens at home, you can get an idea that you are looking at a robin. I am lucky that I have recently moved to the Southern Cape, so I get to see this species quite often (hence the pictures). With that said, Cape birding can be quite boring once you know all the endemics, and given a choice, I would rather be birding up North, as it is less predictable as to what you will see.

First I would like to thank Hilda for inviting me to participate at the challenge as earlier I did not pay that much attention here but after having put my first challenge together and after getting so many incredibly good answers I am also ready to participate at one of the next challenges and if time permits hopefully a bit more often - if the challenge is not that difficult of course

Secondly I would like to thanks all who have already sent me a pm here - You are great and it is indeed making so much fun.

Take care everybody & Cheers :k

:yaya: Pumbaa

if you post some birds who live around us... I will try

almost 5 months without doing the challenge... sorry, I was in Kgalagadi,
then wrote 3 trip reports, with a lot of new birds... for me
then a little bit more than one month again... in... Kgalagadi

but I followed this tread and learn a lot, thank you
